These homes are within walking distance to shopping centers which include popular new restaurants such as Panera Bread, Starbucks, Natural Cafe, and Yanagi Sushi. Also close are Albertsons, Food Maxx, Wal-Mart and Home Depot. The Traditions and Classics developments are at the center of some of the best new shops in Santa Maria. Both Homeowners Associations have a relatively low association fee under $200 per year, and the community is also host to a new fire station, Robin Ventura Field, and Rotary Centennial Park. The Bradley Square area is truly a great place to live on the Central Coast of California.
Historic Carriage District in Santa Maria CA – 2017 Real Estate Market Update
One of Santa Maria’s oldest and most charismatic neighborhoods is The Carriage District, located in the heart of downtown Santa Maria. The Carriage District lies on both sides of Speed Street, between Broadway and Miller and it is anchored by the Santa Maria Inn and Santa Maria High School’s Ethel Pope Auditorium.
This well established neighborhood has unique, one-of-a-kind homes, each making its own statement. Some date back to the early 1900’s, even The Santa Maria Valley Historical Society Museum has dedicated a pamphlet on the Historic Carriage District called “A Walk Through History,” and I created a video about the neighborhood as well. There is a significant amount of Santa Maria history in this neighborhood.
Take a drive, or better yet- take a walk, through this neighborhood, and find yourself lost in the architecture and charm of an older community. The landscaping itself, with mature trees is worth the walk. Older homes are a labor of love, and you can tell these homes are loved.
