Quaint, charming, sleepy, cozy – these are all terms I would use to describe Los Alamos, California.  Known for its old west feel and antique shops, Los Alamos CA boasts a small population.  If you are looking for a sweet little town where you know all your neighbors – this is it.  Currently, there are no big box stores and the Santa Maria Sun reports that the recently adopted community plan includes incentives to make the town more pedestrian friendly and encourage moderate growth all while maintaining the old Western town feel.  The Los Alamos Old Days Festival is a popular long running event, and local historical lodgings include the Victorian mansion and the 1880 Union Hotel.
